It’s Shark Week All Year at Princess Cruises

Cruise News – June 19, 2015

Thanks to a “Discovery at Sea” partnership, Princess Cruises is bringing guests closer than ever to the entertainment phenomenon of Shark Week with TV content, onboard parties, games, giveaways, and even shark-themed food and drink.

“We know how wildly popular Shark Week is worldwide and we’re excited to bring even more fun, education and entertainment to our guests,” says Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises president. “Through our Discovery at Sea partnership, we offer our guests exclusive themed activities and TV content we know they will enjoy.”

Year-round, Princess passengers will enjoy activities designed to surprise and educate, amuse and create an appreciation for these tremendously misunderstood denizens of the deep. These include a “Fish Stories About Sharks” quiz game, a “Swim with the Sharks” challenge competition, and a “Guess the Number of Shark Teeth in the Jar” contest. Before Shark Week airs on July 5 to 12 on Discovery Channel, Princess guest will get sneak peeks at select TV spots, including a first look at the new special Ninja Sharks, looking at six sharks with uniquely lethal adaptations.

To kick off Shark Week at Sea in 2015, guests aboard four voyages – Golden Princess departing San Francisco on June 21 and July 1 and Ruby Princess departing Seattle on June 28 and July 5 – will be treated to Shark Week décor (like a shark-cage elevator), giveaways, kids’ activities (including crafts, T-shirt decorating, temporary tattoos, and face painting), a “blue carpet” premiere party, and bites and beverages like shark cakes, fruit carvings, shark cookies, and shark-themed cocktails.
