October brings cruise deals. From October 6-13, member lines of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) will participate in CLIA Cruise Week – an annual cruise industry sales push.

So as the cruise lines aim to get reservations on the books for the rest of this year and next, that means extra enticements for cruisers such as reduced rates, cabin upgrades, shipboard credit, promotional airfares, and more. Both ocean and river lines are participating in the sales event.

Get more bang for your buck with offers such as Norwegian Cruise Line’s Perfect 10, which provides 10 percent cash back on bookings in the form of an onboard spending credit.The deal applies to all ships and all sailings.

Holland America Line is sweetening the pot by stacking deals. You can combine the line’s Explore4 promotion (which brings free drinks and other perks) with an additional onboard spending credit offer.

MSC Cruises is also bundling promotions. Get a balcony cabin at an oceanview rate on cruises in the Caribbean and Mediterranean and also get prepaid gratuities on all MSC Divina 7-night Caribbean sailings between October 18 and December 13.

Royal Caribbean International’s offer is buy one guest, get the second guest at 50 percent off (plus discounted airfare).

• Carnival Miracle will start its new year-round Mexican Riviera program this weekend as scheduled, at the same time becoming the first ship to return to Cabo San Lucas since Hurricane Odile caused destruction last month. Cruising from Long Beach, Carnival Miracle will arrive in the Mexican resort town on Monday, bringing both passengers and relief supplies for local residents.
• Cruising with the Chefs announced a lineup of culinary cruises aboard Oceania Cruises’ Riviera and Marina. Itineraries include the Baltic, western and eastern Europe, and the South Pacific. The cruises include professional chef-led cooking classes in the ships’ Bon Appétit Culinary Centers and special culinary-focused shore excursions.
• American Cruise Lines is expanding their referral program. Refer a friend or family member to the line, and once they book, you get $500 savings per stateroom on your next cruise. Referred guests also get inducted into the Eagle Society loyalty program, which comes with its own perks.
