Speed Through Customs Control in Vancouver

Cruise News — May 15, 2015

Vancouver’s Canada Place can claim new status as the first cruise terminal in the world with Automatic Passport Control (APC) kiosks.

Ten self-service BorderXpress kiosks have been installed to help speed up the process of cruise passengers going through the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, prior to embarking on a cruise from Vancouver to Alaska.

“These kiosks will further enhance the cruise passenger experience at Canada Place, said Peter Xotta, Port Metro Vancouver’s vice president of planning and operations.

Passengers follow on-screen instructions to scan their passport and receive a receipt and finalize their processing with a U.S. Customs officer. The kiosks are also in use at the Vancouver International Airport.
