Porthole Cruise Magazine Celebrates 20th Anniversary as World’s Leading Cruise Travel Magazine

Fort Lauderdale (February 19 2016)Porthole Cruise Magazine, the world’s leading consumer cruise travel magazine, is celebrating its 20-year anniversary this year, a major milestone that the magazine is not taking lightly.

On newsstands since 1996, and available by both print and digital subscriptions, Porthole Cruise Magazine prides itself on inspiring travelers to cruise through its wide array of editorial including ship reviews, destination features, onboard coverage, and stunning photography. The anniversary kicks off with the March/April 2016 issue, which hits newsstands March 8.

“As I reflect on the past 120 issues and relive what’s appeared on these pages, I am filled with great memories and amazement of what cruise lines have delivered to travelers,” said Bill Panoff, publisher and editor-in-chief. “I have truly enjoyed bringing our readers the best of cruising over the past 20 years, and can only imagine what we’ll be covering in years to come. With no end in sight to new cruise ships, amazing onboard innovations, and a never-ending array of exciting itineraries, there will certainly never be a shortage of cruise tales to tell.”

The March/April issue unveils a newly evolved logo that brings the word “cruise” to the forefront of the magazine’s masthead, emphasizing the focus and reinforcing the message on the newsstand, noted Panoff. Also debuting in the issue is a special 20-year anniversary logo as well as a featured timeline that highlights 20 years of the industry’s most significant onboard innovations.

“It’s amazing how much both the cruise and magazine industries have changed and evolved over the past two decades,” said Linda Douthat, associate publisher and creative director, who’s been with the magazine for its entire 20 years. “But we’ve rolled with it all. And no matter what’s been going on in our industries, and even in the world, we’ve always strived to maintain a level of quality — from editorial to photography to paper quality — to deliver the best magazine we can to our readers.”

The magazine will also celebrate its 20-year anniversary at its annual Porthole Party, which will be held Tuesday, March 15, in Fort Lauderdale during Seatrade Cruise Global, the cruise industry’s leading annual exhibition and conference. Invited party guests will include approximately 1,000 cruise industry leaders.

Other 20-year anniversary events, celebrations, and special promotions will be announced throughout the year.
