  • French cruise line Ponant acquired some of the business assets of New York City-based Travel Dynamics International, a leading operator of educational programs aboard small cruise ships. A new company will market under the brand Ponant, Cultural Cruises & Expeditions, and plans to operate luxury educational cruises to all seven continents…. 
  • Emmy Award–winning filmmaker Rory Kennedy, youngest daughter of Bobby Kennedy, will be aboard an Asia sailing of Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Seven Seas Voyager, screening and talking to guests about her documentary, Last Days in Vietnam. The 18-day cruise embarks from Beijing on February 21. The film chronicles the last days of the Vietnam War…. 
  • Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises both got new presidents and they are both proven company veterans. Michael Bayley, who worked his way up from assistant purser to helm Celebrity Cruises, steps up to the role of president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International. Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, who most recently oversaw the introduction of Quantum of the Seas, will serve as president of Celebrity Cruises.
