Carnival Corporation’s new social impact travel brand, Fathom, has just shared details on what their community-minded cruisers can expect on board.

Travelers sailing to Cuba or the Dominican Republic aboard the 704-passenger Adonia, can enjoy a spa complex, games deck, a pool overlooked by a sun deck, a fitness center, and a full-sized library. But they’ll also be immersed in programming designed to prepare them to make the most out of their time on shore.

Meals from The Ocean Grill will focus on authentic Cuban and Dominican flavors. Conversational Spanish sessions will provide tools to communicate with locals. Core impact classes will help participants understand what it is to be a Fathom traveler, how to work alongside locals, and how to best use their experiences to contribute to communities in need.

Onboard film festivals will feature cinematic treasures from Cuba and the Dominican Republic, showcasing the history, culture, humor, and heroism of these Caribbean countries. Music and dance programs will share the lively rhythms and seductive steps of merengue and salsa, the national dances of the Dominican Republic and Cuba. Onboard shops will also be unlike any retailers at sea, presenting one-of-a-kind products from local entrepreneurs around the globe.
