Get in the Spirit With Celebrity Cruises’ Norway-Themed Cocktail

Cruisers sail for a number of different reasons. Some want to get away from the stresses of daily life during what little vacation they get every year. Others, however, are on a journey to visit new places and experience new things they can’t anywhere else. Celebrity Cruises has a new cocktail aboard their cruises to Norway which bring together unique flavors for a truly Scandinavian taste experience. It’s bringing guests closer the understanding a land most have not explored before.

For Celebrity Cruises, bringing guests an authentic experience on their cruises to Norway was a main point of emphasis for the cruise line, thus the Smoked Ruby Summer Solstice Sour came to be.

Norwegian summers are extraordinary as the flora and fauna have such a short window to grow to their full potential before winter starts again. The cocktail begins with a classic Scandinavian liquor, Aquavit, which has been part of the culture of the region for hundreds of years. Add to the shaker a mix of juice from fresh pressed berries and ginger syrup along with lemon juice to highlight the region’s sweet summer fruits.

The glass is garnished with wildflowers and a gold leaf representing Norway’s nickname as the “Land of the Midnight Sun”. The final product is also supplemented with rosemary smoke from a handheld smoker to represent the bonfires which are popular during the summer months.

Celebrity worked closely with Beautiful Booze, a cocktail blogger with a large Instagram following to create the Smoked Ruby Summer Solstice Sour. Find the complete recipe below!
