Celebrating National S’mores Day on a Cruise

There’s a fine line between perfectly toasted and blazing inferno, which do you prefer? The art of s’more making varies from person to person based on taste preference, but no matter what, the main idea stays the same; have fun! S’mores are sweet, gooey and make a big mess, how could you not love them? The classic camping treat is as part of American culture as apple pie and in honor of National S’mores Day, we took a look at some of the best s’mores desserts found on cruise ships all over the world.

You won’t find too many campfires on board cruise ships, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get authentic s’mores flavor for dessert. Plenty of cruise lines offer some kind of s’mores dessert on board, here are some of our favorites!

Nothing beats the real thing | Photo by Autumn Mott Rodeheaver on Unsplash

Carnival Cruise Lines has one of the most talked about cruise ship desserts on their menu and it’s the s’mores parfait! Layers of sweet chocolate, gooey marshmallow and crumbled graham cracker may not be as fun to eat as the real thing, but grab a spoon and dig in and you won’t be disappointed.

Seven Layer S’mores Stack – Princess Cruise Lines

Those dining at the Crown Grill on board Princess Cruises are in for a great experience. After appetizers and main courses full of fresh seafood and delicious steaks, make sure you save room for the Seven Layer S’Mores Stack. Layers of chocolate and marshmallow stuck between sweet graham crackers make this dessert a spitting image of the campfire classic. All seven layers are not to be missed!

Alaska Shore Excursions

Shore excursions are a popular part of any cruise adventure, but for those headed to Alaska, make sure you book an excursion with campfire s’mores included! Nothing beats the real thing when it comes to s’mores roasted on an open campfire surrounded by your friends and family. For those traveling to Alaska on Norwegian Cruise Line, signing up for the Musher’s Camp & S’more Roasting Adventure is tons of fun. The Alaskan Rainforest Family Adventure from Carnival Cruise Line is another excellent shore excursion for nature and s’more lovers of all ages.
