  • Norwegian expedition cruise line Hurtigruten has a new addition to its fleet, temporarily named MS Norway Explorer. Built in Portugal in 2009, the 320-guest ship will be reconstructed for polar cruises along Norway’s coast. The new ship replaces Midnatsol, which will be cruising with MS Fram in Antarctica for 2016/17.
  • River operator Scenic Cruises has announced additions to its 2016 itineraries, including an 8-day Iconic Danube, from Passau to Budapest; a 21-day Gems of the Seine and Breathtaking Bordeaux, combining two of France’s most breathtaking regions; and a 21-day Christmas Markets linking Paris to Prague with a cruise full of holiday traditions.
  • TUI Cruises has ordered two new Mein Schiffs to replace their current vessels, Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2. The older ships will be passed on to the travel group’s British subsidiary, Thomson Cruises. TUI recently inaugurated Mein Schiff 4, and has two ships already on order from Meyer Turku, Mein Schiff 5 and Mein Schiff 6.
