THE MARINA AT ATLANTIS:
AN ADDITION TO THE GREAT YACHT HARBORS OF THE WORLD
Five-Star World-Class Facility In The Bahamas
Raises Caribbean Marina Standards To Riviera Levels Of Luxury And Service
PARADISE ISLAND, THE BAHAMAS – The legendary yacht harbors of the world
form a highly selective club that has expanded by one very impressive
member. Kerzner International’s luxury five-star, world-class Marina at
Atlantis rivals the most distinguished harbor facilities in the world. It
is the boating place to be and be seen in the Americas.
The Marina at Atlantis is a centerpiece of Atlantis, Paradise Island,
resort, Kerzner International's hugely popular family entertainment and
gaming property, a unique celebration of the legends of the lost continent
of Atlantis. The marina has 63 mega-yacht slips, including 160-foot finger
piers with 37-foot beam accommodating yachts from 40 up to 220 feet in
length, lay-along-side berths with no beam restrictions, and a minimum
water depth of 11.5 feet at low tide. A key feature of the facility is its
extremely spacious design, providing easy maneuverability for large
vessels.
Putting the Marina at Atlantis in a class entirely by itself are all the
facilities, services and attractions of Atlantis, Paradise Island resort,
only steps away and fully available to all marina guests. Atlantis offers
more than 2,300 guest accommodations, world renowned restaurants, bars and
lounges, the most exciting casino in the Caribbean, extensive meeting
facilities including the largest ballroom in the Caribbean and an
impressive collection of luxury boutiques and shops.
Opening in summer 2005 is the new Marina Village, a 65,000 square foot
development around the existing marina which will resemble a quaint
Bahamian marketplace featuring nineteen retail shops, four distinct
restaurants including a Carmine’s and new Café Martinique (under the
supervision of chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten) and live entertainment. The
Marina Village at Atlantis will boast three main plazas each defined by
unique architecture, paving stones, boldly painted buildings and lush
vegetation. An assortment of retail carts in each section will feature
merchandise reflective of the life and energy of the islands.
An additional focal point of its unique family entertainment experience at
Atlantis are eleven million gallons of fresh- and salt-water pools,
amazing water adventures, cascading waterfalls, a seemingly endless
stretch of beach that has been called the most beautiful in the world, and
a marine habitat second only to Mother Nature: a remarkable, unparalleled
assortment of exhibit lagoons and underwater formation displaying 200
species of marine life: 50,000 live animals, ranging from schools of
sharks to rainbows of tropical fish. Other recreational opportunities
include the Mandara Spa at Atlantis, the Atlantis Sports Center with
tennis, basketball, and four-lane pool and championship golf at the Ocean
Club Golf Course at nearby One&Only Ocean Club.
"With the quality of facilities, services and amenities at this marina,
plus the incomparable attraction of Atlantis, Paradise Island, the marina
has become a world-class yacht harbor on par with any comparable facility
in the world," said Sol Kerzner, chairman of Kerzner International. Direct
access to the protected marina from Nassau Harbour is via a new 100-foot
wide, 11.5 foot deep (at low tide) channel that allows for unrestricted
mast height and quick and easy access for all vessels. An underground
tunnel was built beneath the channel for automobile traffic, a first for
The Bahamas. Kerzner International was responsible for both projects.
Other features of the highly service-oriented Marina at Atlantis include
24-hour staffed security, tie-up assistance and dock assistance for
transfer of luggage and supplies, a sanitary sewer pump out facility at
each slip, daily trash pick up and single- and three-phase power. Guest

television connection per slip with complimentary access, wireless
internet, daily newspaper delivery, room service from Atlantis to the
