Costa Cruises to Give Away Two Cruises on the New Costa Favolosa Worldwide online contest features cruises to Greece, Turkey, Croatia
HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Today Costa Cruises launches "Play & Win with Costa Favolosa," a contest that will give away two cruises on the fleet’s new 114,500-ton, 3,800-guest flagship. Open to Internet users around the world, “Play & Win with Costa Favolosa" can be accessed at
www.costafavolosa.com and runs through June 20, 2011.
The contest has two components, with a cruise prize for each. The first is called "What fairy tale are you?" and it has entrants answer a five-question quiz about Costa Favolosa. Based on their answers, contestants will be matched to one of four profiles — Wellness, Family, Couple or Young People.
A drawing will be held June 30 among all contestants who took the quiz to select the winner of one cruise for two in a balcony stateroom. The eight-day sailing, departing Nov. 6, 2011, from Venice, Italy, calls at Greece, Turkey and Croatia.
In addition to the cruise, the winner receives complimentary on-board services related to their quiz profile. For example, if the winner was matched to the Wellness profile, the prize will include a Samsara Spa treatment package in the 64,600-square-foot, two-level wellness center, plus dinner in
the exclusive Samsara Restaurant. The second part of the contest, called "Favolosa Is," requires contestants to submit a photograph that represents their most memorable “fabulous experience,” along with a brief explanation. The photos will be published in a gallery at www.costafavolosa.com, and embellished with Costa Favolosa’s distinctive inaugural logo.
Visitors to the site can then vote for their favorite photo in the gallery, and a drawing will be held Nov. 30, 2011, among the 200 pictures that receive the most votes. Contestants will be able to spread the word and share their pictures with friends on social network outlets such as Facebook and Twitter.
The winner will receive one eight-day cruise for two to Greece, Turkey and Croatia in a sea-view stateroom on Costa Favolosa departing Venice April 29, 2012.
In the days leading up to Costa Favolosa’s July 2, 2011, naming ceremony in Venice, Costa Cruises also will welcome fans on its social media sites with two activities: an interactive game on Facebook starting June 15 at
www.facebook.com/costacruises.na and on July 1, on the occasion of the
Notte Rosa 2011 Festival in Emilia Romagna (summer’s New Year’s Eve, when the Adriatic Riviera turns pink), Costa Favolosa will be on the locationbased social networking site FourSquare, which allows users to share their favorite businesses and services on mobile devices.
Costa Favolosa was built at a cost of €420 million and will be the largest ship to fly the Italian flag. Favolosa’s sister ship, Costa Fascinosa, currently is under construction at the Marghera shipyard and is scheduled for delivery in spring of 2012. The two ships are part of Costa’s €9.6 billion fleet-expansion plan that began in 2000 and called for nine ships to be built in Italy and delivered between 2003 and 2012.
For more than 60 years Costa Cruises’ ships have sailed worldwide, offering the best in Italian style, hospitality and cuisine, while providing holidays focused on fun and relaxation. The line’s 14 ships visit 250 destinations throughout the Mediterranean, northern Europe, the Baltic, Caribbean, South America, United Arab Emirates, Far East and Indian Ocean. Two new ships are on order from Fincantieri and will be delivered in 2011 and 2012.
